Nigerian Peppered Gizzard – Nigerian Food Recipes

How to make Nigerian Peppered Gizzard
Peppered gizzard is one of the popular Nigerian snacks that are enjoyed by so many. You can enjoy peppered gizzard with Jollof ricefried rice, fried plantain and the list goes on. Follow this easy step by step Nigerian food recipe on how to get your peppered gizzard done.

  • Chicken Gizzard
  • Onion
  • Green Bell Pepper
  • Red Bell Pepper
  • plum tomatoes
  • Maggi cube
  • Dried Thyme
  • Aromat Seasoning
  • Salt
Cooking Instructions
  • Thoroughly clean the gizzard and peel off any extra skin
  • Put the gizzard in a reasonably sized pot and add some water
  • Add few slices of onion, 1 Maggi cube, Dried thyme, Aromat seasoning and a bit of salt, stir with a spoon and leave to boil for 25 minutes
  • Add half a tin of plum tomatoes and a bit of red bell pepper in a blender
  • Blend a for few seconds (You want the outcome to look mushy)
  • Dice some onion as well as green bell pepper
  • Deep fry the boiled gizzard for 2 to 3 minutes
  • Heat up an empty pot for circa 2 minutes then add a tiny bit of vegetable oil
  • Add a little portion of the blended pepper, then add the diced onion and green bell pepper
  • Add some Aromat seasoning and a tiny bit of salt then stir with a spoon
  • Make sure you are have your cooker’s heat reduced to medium level
  • Add the deep fried gizzard to the mixture and stir with a spoon
  • Turn off the cooker and serve
